Has Black Friday lost its hype over the years? Is it necessary to wait until Black Friday in order to score the best deals? Don't get me wrong, people are still making purchases on Black Friday, but is it as monumental as it was 5, 10, or 15 years ago? I believe not. What used to be a one-day extravaganza of sales has evolved into an extended event, spanning a week or even the entire month of November. This is particularly evident in the electronics industry. Back in the day, electronics manufacturers would save their sales exclusively for the day of Black Friday, but now it seems they have expanded their discounted offerings for the entire week or mon.
WhWho would have imagined? Families coming together on Thanksgiving to enjoy their feast, then retiring for the night only to rise bright and early for the frenzy of Black Friday shopping. However, those days are now a thing of the past. Black Friday has evolved (since 2022) into a month-long sale extravaganza throughout November and beyond. It appears that we have lost the excitement and build-up of that major sale on a single day. In terms of televisions, soundbars, and most electronics, the discounts on Black Friday itself are often no more impressive than those offered in the early weeks of November.
Fisher Electronics has observed, adjusted, and followed suit with the changing dynamics of the industry and sales. So why wait until Black Friday to make your electronics purchase? The trend we've noticed is that most electronics manufacturers now offer Black Friday sale prices as early as November. It all began with the best deals only on Black Friday, then expanded to include Thursday and Friday, the entire week of Black Friday, and in recent years, even the entire month of November (as of 2022). As previously mentioned, when it comes to most TVs and Soundbars, the deals on Black Friday itself are sometime no better than what you've already seen in the early weeks of November..
Hence, we closely track the pricing and sale dates of these manufacturers, enabling us to offer "Black Friday" pricing during these designated periods outside of the actual day itself. Take a moment to explore our current Black Friday page, complete with price matching. This raises the question: is there a valid reason to wait until the specific day of Black Friday for your primary shopping? If the industry is extending the same Black Friday pricing throughout the entire month of November, it seems unlikely. In fact, we have observed numerous TV & audio sales occurring in early to mid November, well before Black Friday arrives. Many satisfied customers have already acquired their electronics ahead of time and are enjoying them during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Take a glimpse below to witness the transformative evolution of Black Friday sales.
The advent of sales on Black Friday has brought about significant changes. In my quest to uncover past advertisements, I stumbled upon a Walmart ad from 2010 exclusively featuring Black Friday sales from 5am to 11am. It's quite amusing to reflect on how times have changed, considering that ad promoted items such as digital cameras and GPS devices, which have now been replaced by our trusty smartphones. Those were the days, but alas, they are now a distant memory.
The onset of more changes was witnessed as sales began to extend into Thanksgiving evening. While sales commenced at 6pm in stores on Thanksgiving, they were available online throughout the entire day. Perhaps it's best to enjoy your dinner a bit earlier, or better yet, simply order these items online at any time. This advertisement dates back to 2019, highlighting the ongoing evolution of Black Friday.
The momentum of changes persists, can you see the direction we're heading? The allure of Black Friday sales has been prolonged throughout the entire week. This 2020 advertisement reveals that you can now access the exciting Black Friday sales from the very onset of Black Friday week. This allows you ample time to savor Thanksgiving dinner and cherish moments with your loved ones.
Is that enough? We're offering extended Black Friday sales all week. Sounds good, but we can do even better. Let's stretch it out for the entire month of November, featuring incredible Black Friday deals. The ad prominently displays discounts available throughout the month, with sale prices valid from November 1 to November 28.
As observed, the Black Friday trend indicates that sales kick off at the start of November, and in general, there are sometimes no significantly better prices on Black Friday itself. Fisher Electronics consistently offers price matched TVs and electronics to compete throughout the year. Check out our current Black Friday page featuring ongoing TV & Audio sales.
But how did we get to this point, where the sales on Black Friday are in some cases no better than the sale we saw earlier in the month? I submit, because we are subjected to big sales just about every month of the year anymore, this lessens the impact of Black Friday. This can carry over into Cyber Monday, and Christmas and so on. There is almost always a big sale, which unfortunately has somewhat ruined the enjoyment and big savings Black Friday has offered in the past.
The bottom line is, you no longer have to wait until Black Friday to enjoy the benefits of Black Friday Sales. We bring you these incredible deals as soon as they become available.
